In this video, Nae talks about how to give better 1ARs. The 1AR is often viewed as one of the harder speeches in debate because it is time pressed to answer a lot of different arguments made by the negative over the course of the block.

One of the first pieces of advice that Nae gives is that you have to be realistic about the time you have - you have to be selective because you simply don't have enough time to answer every argument in the debate.
