The 2NR should try to close doors. You should find ways to make it harder for the 2AR to sound convincing. You should create coherent stories that are so good it shouldn't matter what the other team says and doesn't allow for the other team to recharacterize the debate in the 2AR with a question the 2NR didn't answer. Sometimes switches perspectives can help with both closing doors and helps to play to the conditions that help you win.
